Grades of HPLC Solvents
We offer two grades of HPLC Solvents, to cater for every HPLC users requirements.
Standard Grade
Most HPLC analysis can be carried out using our Standard range of HPLC Solvent.
Routine HPLC work, especially Quality Control (QC) type analyses, does not need the expense of the highly specialised HPLC Solvents marketed by the majority of HPLC Solvent suppliers. The proof is in the resultant analysis, and many HPLC users are probably spending more than they have to do, to achieve excellent HPLC results.
This is where our Standard range comes in. No frills, nothing highly specialised, just good quality HPLC Solvents at excellent prices.
Ultra Grade
Obviously there are certain applications where the best quality HPLC Solvents will produce better results. This is particularly true for use at lower wavelengths (ca. 220nm).
In addition, some research work involves very low levels of sample and sensitivity becomes a major factor in the choice of which grade of HPLC Solvent to use.
Our Ultra grade HPLC Solvents have extremely low levels of impurities, allowing the smallest sample peaks to be seen with virtually no background from the mobile phase. They are also packed under Nitrogen conditions to prevent any minute contamination.
But, of course removing the contaminants is expensive and this is reflected in their price.
So, which Grade should you use?
The answer is the one that works for you! Why spend the extra money on the Ultra grade if the Standard grade will produce the result you are looking for. All you will be doing is spending money that could be used elsewhere in your consumables purchase.
Remember, HPLC Solvents are the second largest spend in any HPLC consumables budget, after HPLC Columns.
Container Sizes
HPLC users have traditionally purchased their HPLC Solvents in 2.5 litre bottles. But this is expensive! The cost of bottles can really push up the per litre cost of the HPLC Solvents.
We believe that the most cost effective method of buying HPLC Solvents is not in 2.5 litres, but in 5 or 25 litre containers.
By buying in the larger containers further savings of up to 40% on what are already excellent prices, can be made.
Pre-Mixed HPLC Solvents
Most HPLC analysts routinely use the same HPLC procedures for routine analysis of their compounds, especially in a QA/QC department. Therefore, the HPLC mixtures that are formulated tend to be re-used on a very regular basis. This would indicate that the analyst will make up the mixture either several times a day, or even on each day that they are using HPLC. This is not only a very labour intensive operation, but also is open to significant errors.
With this in mind, Chromos Express have introduced the World's first commercially available range of Pre-Mixed HPLC Solvents, providing HPLC users of all disciplines and budgets with many advantages over the traditional method of producing HPLC solvent mixtures.
The most significant benefits include;
* High degree of mixing accuracy (+/- 0.05%). Far higher than with any other method of HPLC solvent mixing.
* Certificate of Analysis for every batch produced
* Nationally Traceable Certification of Analysis, to comply with all Regulatory Authorities.

We use only the very best HPLC Solvents from our "Ultra" range. As an example of the quality of our HPLC Solvents, the Gradient Acetonitrile has a 100% transmittance at a wavelength of 200nm! This has never been achieved previously.

We are very flexible with regard to any specific requests. The Pre-Mixed HPLC Solvents are available in 1, 2.5 and 5 litre volumes. Larger volumes are also available upon request on a made to order basis.
