This system has only three seal surfaces and three parts. This elegantly simple solution is much less likely to leak and much easier to assemble, use and maintain than any other guard cartridge system. The holder is open on the side for fast installation. Just drop the cartridge in, hand tighten the holder nut and connect to your column. The cartridge is always visible, letting you pinpoint problems immediately. All components are type 316 stainless steel for maximum reliability and life, even under demanding, unattended operation.
The guard holders and cartridges use small-diameter flow channels that maintain separation efficiency. Connect directly to your analytical column using the column coupler, included with each holder. All Guard holders will also accept tubing for those who prefer or require in-line operation.
Guard columns act as an extension of the analytical column. If the guard columns selectivity or efficiency doesn't match the analytical column, performance deteriorates. Retention, resolution, and peak symmetry may suffer. This system avoids these problems by using cartridges filled with packing that matches your analytical column.
The cartridges are available in most of the popular packing materials and all of the Chromos Express own brand packing materials.
